Imbolc &
St. Brigid's Day

Saturday

January 25th

3:00~5:00 pm

The celebration of Imbolc originates from the Celts. Imbolc symbolizes the halfway point between the winter solstice (Yule) and the spring equinox (Ostara). The word “imbolc” means “in the belly of the Mother,’ because the seeds of spring are beginning to stir in the belly of Mother Earth. Let us honor the seeds that are stirring in our own bellies as we continue to grow.

St Brigid, one of three patron saints of Ireland, is well known for forming the monastery at Kildare. She is also considered a patron saint of healers and poets, and is associated with creativity, womanhood and keeping the hearthfire lit. Her sacred flame is still maintained by the Brigidine Sisters in Kildare. In beautiful Celtic fashion, St Brigid’s story is often intertwined with the Goddess Brigid.

Join us Saturday, January 25 from 3-5pm as we welcome the return of the light and learn to keep our flames lit. There will be time to commune with the land we are blessed to tend, share in a bonfire, and to walk the labyrinth. We look forward to seeing you!
